Hi Guys,

Just a quick question, what tools do I need to replace the cam belt / balance belt on my 86 944 lux? I hear that I need a special tensioning tool, (porsche shop has one at £450 ish! ouch!) or I can get something called a krikitt from ebay at about £45 from the US! do I need anything else? Or are there alternatives.

Cheers

Simon

The club have 2 of the tensioning tools for members to borrow free.

There was a set of all the tools going on the "for sale" forum here last week, might still be available

I have used the krikit.......works fine but awkward to use and read as you will be using the bottom of the scale.

It is not supposed to fit later automatic adjusters, I have used it on both types. You have to remove the idler roller to get it in on the later types.

Thanks for the help guys, I was able to get the set on sale in the "for sale" area. The kit apparently includes the krikitt so I guess I'll get the chance to find out!

By the way berg love the avatar!

Thanks

Simon
