Camera Detectors

Hello folks,

Am pondering whether to get a speed camera detector - Road Angel, Snooper that sort of thing (just in case I should ever stray over a speed limit [;)]) . Has anyone out there got one and if so what sort and what do you make of them good or bad ?

Also I believe that the laser detection elements of them are soon to become illegal - is that the case ?

And there was me thinking we Sileys (means crafty in Suffolk-speak) were lucky in not having too many speed cameras around.

They stand and fall on the quality of the database. I used to swear by Road Angel, but I have recently passed cameras it didn't know about on more than one occasion, and I am anal about updating in twice a week.

The laser detector part is just a gimmick anyway; it's of absolutely no use in the real world where you're already clocked even if it goes off when you're targeted (which mine didn't when I used to have one).

My Road Angel (New, which means the old one [8|]) has been 100% so far. Except, temporary cameras are not always deleted. Better safe than sorry.

I found that I could actually notice an improvement in my road awarenesss once i was not constantly scanning every tree and sign to look for a hidden camera. Not had a flash since I bought it. Fate - consider yourself tempted......

We also have the camera database on our tomtom. The only problem with this is that you don't always want the damn thing telling you where to go. So, I use the Road Angel all the time, and the tomtom when i might get lost.
