Camera locator Road Angel Connected

I am in the market for a replacement GPS camera detector and like the idea of the new Road Angel Connected but from the pictures I have seen it looks a bit bulky especially when upgrading from a Micro Road Pilot.

Does anybody have any views on the Road Angel and of the best place to position it in a 997 - i understand it comes with windscreen and dashtop mounts.

I have upgraded to this from the Road Angel plus and I like it, but it has taken a bit of getting used to. On a sunny day the screen is not as clear as the RAP but is has a better lay out and feels like an upgrade of the technology. It does seem to take longer to find satelites and seems to take a while to catch up with the speed of travel sometimes!!!

As for positioning, it sits quite happily in the middle of my dash attached to the windscreen, the other good news is that they have moved away from using the magnet to secure it to the mount, so there is less chance of it ending up in your lap on hard acceleration. Overall a good bit of kit, that you don't have to update as it does it automatically.

i bought one last month and am very pleased with it so far-i have it mounted like big frys

I have had my road angel and have so far found it very good although significantly larger than the micr-pilot. having a rechargeaable battery and automatic upgrades while in the car are big pluses. I do recommend it.

I have spent the morning trying out different camera detectors - I went for the Road Angel Plus in the end, as it is smaller, works off a battery, and seemed more than sufficient. The Connected has all sorts of features that you might not need if you are just looking for a speed camera detector?
