Camera mount

Tried a search but didn't turn anything up. Anybody recommend a roll-cage camera mount? It's going on the Christmas list!

I have the 'small roll bar mount' from dogcamsport (4th one down) which is fine if your camera is light like mine. It works well, the only issue I've had is I've forgotten to tighten it up a couple of times allowing the camera to rotate halfway through a session, but it's hardly a fault of the product :ROFLMAO: and if I worked out how the remote control worked then I'd never need to loosen it in the first place. Trackday organisers seem happy with it too.

Thanks chaps, Peter, does the one you have allow for any-which-way movement? Looking at the picture, I can't see how the vertical part would tilt towards the horizontal?

Hi Ben, I'm probably being thick ('er than usual), from memory the top ball joint allows you to rotate the front downwards and lock it off at any angle (it can't go above level with the horizon without undoing the clamps onto the cage but I can't imagine you'd ever need to do that anyway). So I'm pretty sure it is fully adjustable, I can always double check when it's light outside (interior lights are far too heavy [;)]).

I have a bullet cam from http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/index.php (they were doing discounts for club members in the past) I use my video cam as a recorder under the seat. Would work well with a solid state or hard drie media recorder. They also have mounts and tethers etc.

Dave/Peter, just been reading a similar thread on rennlist which warns against using some mounts with an HD camera, due to vibration making it switch itself off. I'll be using an HD camera, do you? Have you had any problems? Thanks chaps

My camera wasnt a HD one. Its a Sony mini DV.. DCR-PC350E to be precise...
I run a few bullet cams to it as its got a A/V in....
I position the bullets on the outside of the body on mini suction mounts....
You can get some interesting angles, when you try...[;)][:D][;)][:D]
