CAMP 4S Video

This looks very tempting but I wonder if I should do a few more dry runs first...
Would be interested in feedback from anyone who has attended this before, particularly to what extent it has contributed to the less extreme weather driving experience. Although not a good comparison, from my limited experience of quad biking in such conditions I have found it a little tricky going back to the dry.

Is there an expectation that one has attended other dry and/or wet driving schools before attending this course?

No I dont feature Gary but the video represents pretty accurately what it was like. I plan to do CAMP 4 S next year and I stumbled across this video whilst doing a Google search.

I would say the main reason to go to CAMP 4 is that it is huge huge fun, great value and very well organised. I am not sure the skills you learn can be directly transferred to normal driving in the UK as obviously we seldom get those conditions. However it does boost your confidence behind the wheel of a 911 and you certainly learn how to control understeer and oversteer so it does help improve your knowledge of the car and how to drive it

A few stupid questions ...
Do they provide the cars ?
What about insurance if it is their cars ?
What about us poor C2 owners ?

Great Vid by the way !!

Yes they provide 50 911's plus Cayennes for use over an 8 week period. The cars are mainatined by a team of Porsche mechanics and they are cleaned and checked over every day. This is a big event every year but the brits only show up for 1 week as places are restricted by Porsche GB

Insurance is included in the deal. They do have a tricky clause which says they can charge you with an excess if your are reckless or ignore instructions. You have to be driving in a crazy way to do that. Most people have at least one off. I did.

The cars include C2 and C4 in both manual and tiptronic form. You choose which you want at the start of the course. You have to do CAMP 4 before they will let you do CAMP 4S which is a little more advanced
