Can anybody recommend a "local" Indy to North Herefordshire? Dave Griffiths Racing?

Hi there,

I don't post much on here (I didn't expect to keep my 996 as long as I have - I've caught the bug! [8|])

Anyhoo, I've got an MY00 996C4 manual. It's had a Hartech rebuild due to the dreaded bore score a couple of years ago.

However, I've had a double-whammy now. Firstly, it's service is due. All planned for until the 2nd issue hit me today whilst driving to work....... misfiring.
Stuck my code reader on it and misfiring on Cylinders 1 & 3. In this cr@ppy weather, coil-packs are dying out.

My issue is that I'm with the AA and the car will need to low-loaded to an Indy. While Hartech are great, they're a long way away from Hereford. I would like to find some one closer to home tbh.
I've had recommendations to use Dave Griffiths Racing up in Shrewsbury - a LOT closer and good.

Can anybody give me some (urgent) details or recommendations? Hopefully getting the car moved in the next day...... just need to decide where it's going [:)]

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Thanks - will also check em out.

Any other suggestions? I'm intrigued by Dave Griffiths as he is SO close to me tbh. And his website goes a long way to reassuring me too.

Would welcome any recommendations

Dan

I can recommend ... myself. I run Cotswold Porsche Specialists. If you google us I hope you will find we have a very good reputation. Our speciality is m96 /m97 engine cars.

Your faults are very common and we normally carry ignition coil packs in stock. My prices are good too - we recently ran a December special of Major service for 250 and a minor for 200... and I'd happily extend this offer for you.

We're based north of Cheltenham and you are welcome to use our waiting area + wifI whilst with us.

Give me a call if you want to chat further.

kind regards

Lee

Thanks Lee :)
Will "dwell" on it (no pun intended [:D]) - no offense intended, but the car's only been to Hartech (the pain happened in my first 6 months of ownership!) so I'm doing some homework on what great services are around. But many thanks for your kind and generous offer too.

Just to confirm your number though - 01242 620180?

Dan :)

That number is correct Dan ... We have done our fair few m96 rebuilds too, but too late for that! Hartech was a good choice.

I'm also a R13 member, so you may have already met me.

Ta, Lee

Just an update - Lee: I'll give you a shout tomorrow as I need to ascertain what sort of overall bill I can expect for the work :)

Will give you a shout in the morning.

Dan :)

UPDATE - sorted the coilpacks myself pretty much after I posted.

Not had chance to sort out the service (yet).... but it's on my list :)
Thanks for the help :)
Dan
