Hi,
I've just moved from a Boxster to a 997 (and what a move !!!!) and I was wondering whether I paid too much. So, I looked on the German Porsche website for approved cars ....

http://ucl.porsche.de/ucl/plsql/de/clients.show_cars?reihe_=91X&art_=carrera&bauart_=all&vpreis_=&bpreis_=&vezl_=2006&bezl_=2006&plz_=-1&sid_=9964917632BC9B104323B61F53EFFD0&styp_=s&wflg=0

(if the link doesn't work the site is the same as that for Porsche GB, so very easy to access).

I was quite surprised by the big difference in prices to here in the UK and of course this is mostly due to the euro/pound exchange rate. I know this will make UK-produced cars very attractively priced for export, but what about Porsche?

I'm aware of a few people importing to the UK, looks likethe opposite now [&:]

UK and German spec differences.. ??

That is very interesting! Can we expect to see a lot of RHD Porsches on the roads in Germany soon! Looking at the search for, say, an MY07 C2S on the German and UK sites the first car on the German site is an 03/07 reg at just under 70k euros and the first on the UK, same reg, at £45k. With an exchange rate near to 1=1 may give our friends across the channel food for thought? What is the difference between the specs?

Battery and security are the main, I think our spec is actually higher?

well apart from the other bits like steering wheel [;)]
As pointed out, certainly not 25K worth!!

as you say ,2 years ago i was looking at the german and french opc dealerships with green eyes at their prices-at the time a good £10k lower than our priced equivalents-what a difference a falling pound makes!!!
