Hey, anybody else on the forum doing the 2007 cannonball 8000?

It's quite a slog.. 8 countries in 72 hours, finishing in Croatia. I'm building up an '80s 3.2 coupe into an orange 1973 RSR for the race - woohoo, can't wait!

Let me know if anyone wants to be a car sponsor.. very reasonable rates, honest!

need a co driver

I'd love to Kish, honest I would!
I'm fleecing all my suppliers though hoping to make a couple of grand for cancer research.. Looks like I might have to stomach my pride and drive with a big Microsoft logo on the car [:'(] - they do have the moola though.

I'll get a big Region 20 PCGB sticker on it as well of course!

That was a joke! (and keeping your thread at the top of course)

You just have to put the MS logo on the car; I had to work for them [:D]... Absolutely joy and would work for them again, really good company; you should try some of their software products too..[;)] PS: take no responsibility for their software, I was contracting for their video games division

...

Let me know if you need direct contacts with Porsche related service providers in London area... they'll probably ask you, if you need your car prepared for a fee than sponsor you though :ROFLMAO:

All the best,

Hi. Any more details on your 73 RSR replica - sounds very interesting.

Regards

I didn't know you contracted for Microsoft Kish! nice cushy number eh? [;)]
Thanks for the offer.. I'll definately quiz you closer to the race.

Hi Yoda. I'm buying an '84 / '85 3.2 in the next month or so, then early next year having it pulled apart and rebuilt as an orange '73 RSR. To be quite honest it will mainly be a body conversion only, with a few small engine / exhaust / weight reduction measures thrown in for good measure. Sounds ridiculous, but it will be used on a daily basis after the conversion so I'll leave most of the interior intact. As soon as the conversion is done, I'll bring it to the Ace cafe meets.

I'm hoping a classic, orange Porsche will get a bit more TV coverage for my sponsors than the standard swarm of 996's that do the Cannonball.
