CANNONBALL RUN EUROPE

Happy New Year everyone

Has anyone done the Cannonball Run Europe, as opposed to the Cannonball 8000 that seems to be well covered in PP? On the face of it the event which leaves from the UK and arives back into the UK sounds great fun, but I'd be interested in hearing of people's experience before parting with the hard earned cash!

Craig, not done it, but gave it some fairly serious thought for this year. Have had a few e-mail conversations with Jan Dechamps at C.B R. I weighed up the cost, fuel, partying, fines, loss of earnings and run into a fairly hefty bill for a week of revelry and decided that the £10k estimate was a bit hefty.[:(] However, it would be a once in a lifetime blast,[:D] if you get paid holidays, find someone to go halves with the cost, avoid fines and have an early night it might be affordable. [;)] Full report on return if you do it please!

I was speaking to the organiser again yesterday and she said she is offering a special discount to Porsche Club Members. Anyone who is interested can contact her at;

I intend to do the 2007 event and it would be great to be joined by some more of the club members.

A mate of mine did it in a matt black tvr Cerbera....its a bit money money money and you can spend a bit of time with the police in various countries (my mate spent a night in the cells).
If you are after a blat around europe,i would just get some friends together and do it on the quiet.
Or if you have not done it and you want a extreme motoring experience,then you have to do the Nurburgring.
Fantastic food,drink,countryside and motoring experience.
I go 4-6 times a year....you are welcome to join us.

i think the various police forces around Europe, ESPECIALLY the French, are really cracking down on speeding foreigners... nice revenue!

do it on the quiet for sure!
