Can't won't start

Well I guess it's revenge for not getting all the MOT work done fast enough (see below)

Just driven the car out of the garage. No probs.

Grabbed stuff , got back in car and tried to start it. As immob had kicked in it started then died. Normal MO. Zapped immobiliser and tried restarting. This time nothing. Just the sound of what I presume is the starter motor. Absolutely no sign of life from the engine.

First thoughts (in order of cost [:-] ) ???? I guess this means I can't go to the gym and I'll just have to stay in and have a drink.

Bad news there Richard but don't panic , it's probably very simple. You have to check things step by step , it's either sparks or gas. I assume you know how to test for sparks and your battery is fully charged.
For fuel remove the air filter cover and filter element reach up inside the air box and you will find a lever that controls the height of the fuel sensor plate. Push it up and down to familiarise yourself with it's movement. Turn the immobiliser off turn the key fully but don't crank the engine . Return to the air box and push down on the lever you should here the injectors make a lovely jet like noise. If not you either have no fuel or there is a problem in the fuel chain. Post when you get past these stages.

Bones,

I think you're seriously confusing me with someone who has the faintest idea of what goes on under an Porsche engine lid [:D]

I don't even know where the air filter is so the rest is a little beyond me :))))))))

The AA man fiddled with the starter motor and that seems to have fixed it. Intermittent connection which he seems to have fixed.

Thanks for the advice though. If you're at Enfield tomorrow I'll try and thank you in person ! Assuming I get there ........

Bet u that it really is just the immobiliser. Mine has done this a couple of times. Go through the whole get out, lock up. Arm. Wait. Disarm. Unlock. Check Immobi light is the correct colour (if u have one). Start-up. If that isn't it then Bones has already dealt with the other scenario (which I wouldn't have a clue about- lots to learn).
