OK, nothing to do with 944s, in fact nothing to do with Porsche at all, but we saw this on the way home tonight....

I couldn't resist sharing it with you all! It's a shame I couldn't get an aerial view. For those of you from Blackpool, it's the B&Q roundabout near the end of the M55. The car seems to be in a direct line with the lane leading TO the M55, which makes it look like they were driving on the wrong side of the road.

Anyway, I couldn't thing of anything witty to say about it, so perhaps you'd like to try.......

Driver "But the Sat Nav said 'At the roundabout carry straight on onto the A6230'.
I'd have made it if I hadn't Chaved the suspension, my Dads gonna kill me".

Cheers,

"Eye is sorry Mr Police but dem arras on de side confused me in i'. RESPEC' "

"My hand slipped on the wheel 'cos I was HOT, but my threads is so COOL I ain't gonna take 'em off"

"You is just pickin' on me 'cos eyes a yooofff."

"My homies was givin' it large in de back 'cos we was listenin' to some phat tunes, you know what u mean"

"I am terribly sorry officer but there was a stunning gorgeous young filly at the side of the road and I have to admit to have been distracted for the merest moment arf arf. Daddy did make an outrageously large contribution to the Police Officers fund last week, and the Chief Constable is spending the week at our Villa, I wonder if we could make this all go away?"

In the interests of science I hurled myself into a very big roundabout today (in the dry) and lifted off as dramatically as I could. .........

While I appreciate it has unnecessary back lights I'm going to be unusually charitable...

If you look at the rear nearside wheel it's not straight. I think either it clipped the inside kerb (could have been run into it) and then carried on or had a suspension failure and carried on - in both cases unable to turn left. It may even have simply been parked on the island after the suspension failure as there was nowhere better to go.

I have seen exactly this sort of accident you describe happen on the roundabout outside Brackley by the BP garage. The guy had a black tigra with some big wheels. Seems the problem was the wheels where too big because he ended up in the roundabout almost with his left front wheel snapped off, and pushed back under the car. Looked like the ball joint failed.

Now that is charitable! I'm not fully sure what you mean, but the nearside wheel would have been away from the roundabout, and if it was suspension failure, I don't think they would have been able to get the car up there - you can't tell from the photo, but the black and white bit is at quite a steep angle - I'd have thought that without a fair bit of speed, they wouldn't have got up there. I could be wrong though. There's a lack of skid marks on the road too.

"This chap in a toyota pushed me into the roundabout, then fell about laughing and taking pictures. LOOK there he goes again!"

I can't think of anything witty to say about the Golf, but why do you have a toyota wheel on your 944[:D]
