Car Band

A few weeks ago whilst visiting the Porsche shop in Halesowen I noticed a car cover that covered just the bottom of the car and was quite thick, just the job for protecting the car sides , front and back.
It was one of the first ones, a kind of prototype. I popped in yesterday and they had the covers there and were still bagging and boxing them ready to launch at the Auto sport show this weekend. I took one home and tried it on my 964, it works a treat, easy to fit and seems to offer good protection, especially in a garage with the normal clutter around.
I was only going to put one on the 964 but will now probably buy one for the 997 as well.

I always worry any kind of cover will collect dust and scratch the paint! [:(] Lovely pair of 911 to have [8D]

Perhaps, but not as much as the likely hood of dropping something on it, or brushing up against it in the garage - very sensible.

Is this Des's product? DES! ?

oh nice garage.....nice cars too, what did you do the floor with, and how long has it been down. Reason for asking is I did mine with 2 pack epoxy resin 7 years ago and its now coming up under the wheels of the porsche. Will need to redo at some point.

Get rid of all that grap round about the cars and you will have more space a garage is for cars not bikes [:D][:D][:D]would cling film not just work as well ??

Ref epoxy resin (and any floor coating systems) Hugh -it does seem to lift under wet car tyres -all down to the prep I'm afraid -the rougher the concrete the better -may even need scabbling or needle gunning gently to get a good key. Some need a pre-prep coating to key up the concrete.

The floor is 8mm epoxy screed over concrete and was laid about 4 and a half years ago.

Mined was scrabbled and degreased prior to application. Even so it has lifted, like you say wet , or warm tyres that then contract do the damage. Maybe my prep wasnt done properly. Also mine isnt has heavy as 8mm, more like 2-3.

I had CarBand stickers on the 968 Clubsport at all last years races! I proudly support Des! [:)]
