Car beeps when unlocked?

Hi, my 2002 Boxster S emits a beep from the horn occasionally when I unlock the car. I need to mention that sometimes the drivers door window does not drop when I lift the handle but not sure if it's related. The car locks ok without a warning beep and I have checked all doors and bonnet/boot lids closed as well as the armrest lockable compartment and hood latch. The battery is only two years old and in good condition I believe. I have no warning lights coming on from the dash either. The car is clearly sensing something it doesn't like but I don't know what that could be.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Had similar issue, turned out the locking lever for the hood, seemed to think it was open, window not dropping , could be micro switch
On handle, wd40 fixed this problem for me, disconnect the battery , both sides, ( alarm goes off) will reset electrics

I think it might be the microswitch inside the door lock asseembly, which senses if the door is locked or not. If it is stuck (or sticking) in the 'locked' position, then it will beep when you unlock it, as it thinks it is still locked. It will also stop the window dropping, as it thinks the door is locked. Unfortunately, these switches aren't available as separate parts, and you have to replace the whole lock.

Now you need to find out which door is causing the problem..........

A diagnostic check is the only real way.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I believe it is no coincidence that the drivers door window has stopped dropping when I open the door at the same time this beeping has started. It doesn't do it every time, 1 in 3 occasions when I unlock all is ok. Sounds reasonable that it could be the door lock switch as by their nature switches can be intermittent.
