Car Connect App

Electronics leave me mystified. [&:]

But I've just read somewhere you are able to monitor the movement/speed of your vehicle from a Car Connect app on your phone or IPad.

Can someone please explain how this works and is it a facility included in one of the available options or does it apply to all Macans?

Regards,

Clive.

Probably an Apple product that enables you to see how fast the little s**t who stole it is driving your Macan as it speeds off into the distance.

It appears to be an option available on all Macans

I imagine it works using GPRS on your smartphone. App download from App store

I wonder if it's like the BMW version?
A former member actually found his car following its theft via the app!!

I assume it must be included in the "Online Services" as I don't see it listed as a separate option on the configurator.

Clive.

Oooh Alan,

You are a wit (I think that's the word). [:D]

Car Connect now comes as standard in the Mecan package as I understand it.

It includes a 6 month licence that needs renewing with Cobra to continue.

Regards,

Clive.

Mine is fixed up on my iphone for 6 months free trial. You can check the whereabouts of your car, perhaps if you've forgotten where you parked it- useful in old age.
Also you can sound the alarm and set off the flashers if you like from the comfort of your holiday sun lounger!
However, only today I received two texts and two messages telling me the car had been stolen- but it was only me going to work, so I didn't even bother to ring them back.
Will think hard before spending out on annual renewal, since there is no insurance benefit.

Mike.

I was amazed to find out that Porsche Car Connect (which includes Porsche Tracker) is standard fit on all UK Macans (my sister's car arrives on Sat). Not listed as standard and not available as an option on UK Configurator.

As spook says, 1st 6 months is free, but charges thereafter are quite a bit higher than Cobra (911 and others) charges:

6 months - £169.00
12 months - £269.00
24 months - £469.00
