Car Cover to Protect Hood

Hi
Following on from an earlier thread, my Boxster now sits outside (1968 & 1932 MGs in the Garage). I have tried lots of covers over the years and not been happy with any, the last was a 'Parambulator Garage' but the wind moved the whole thing damaging the door. On a previous car (Toyota MR2) I used a hood cover which was great but the straps holding it down to the wheels scratched the paint work.

I have seen in Porsche Post a 'Hood Cover' by Storm Shield which looks like it might work, front held down by windscreen wipers and around the wing mirror, rear tucked into the hood cover and magnetic strips along the tops of the doors, as well as toggle clips between door and wing. Has anyone used one of these covers? Do they work? After all the other unsuccessful attempts to protect the car I'm sceptical and they are £98 or £180 each for the Boxster. I don't want to use a full cover (as it would be too much trouble to remove and refit, I use the car 3 or 4 times per week) and I'm concerned about water ingress damaging those expensive electronics under the seats.

Look forward to your comments

Paul
