Car cover

I've got a Noah Weathershield that's hardly used. I was thinking of putting it in the for sale section at some point, let me know if you're interested. Details will be on their website.

Getting one for crimbo. Tailored for 944. Was about £70. Will let you know what it is like if you can wait that long?

Got a Monsoon car cover a month or so ago. Doing a good job keeping all the car dry and weather protected. About £140 though. Many make claims they can't keep so check them out thoroughly.

I received the sample pack from Covercraft - they have a good write up but the range is pricey.... I think it was about £250 for the one I liked. I still look out for the odd 2nd hand one appearing on Ebay.... car now has a garage so I didn't go ahead with one but would be good to have one as a back up.

ORIGINAL: ghost Mine's from Halfords. Waterproof, breathable, does the job. About £50
I work for an outdoor jacket manufacturer using Gore Tex and own label fabrics. I do not believe any car cover can be waterproof and breathable for £50!! Certainly not from Halfrauds

Got mine from Specialised Covers about 4 years ago and I'm still happy with it. Cost about £180 with a "show Discount" at the NEC Classic show. A perfect fit, with good straps so it doesn't flap or chafe at all. Best of all there was a choice of green, grey or blue...the green blends in nicely with the bushes and fence in the front garden!! Not quite camouflaged, but discrete.

My issue with covers is that they chafe the edges of the car. It was worth it with a red car, as I couldn't stop worrying that I'd come home to a pink car one day, but it did rub at the corners on a windy day. So, I kept it off unless it was a sunny day. I'd expect a fitted, tailored cover to fit better and rub less than a generic one, that's what you're paying 5 times as much for. [8|]

Hi Paul....that's about right. Chafing is a real issue, but the cover from Specialised is a really tight tailored fit, and the straps at either end of the cills neatly pull it down do that it covers the wheels and doesn't flap about. As always, you get what you pay for! My only problem is that the local cats seem to think it's a sofa and are pulling it about out the corners....

Hi there. I bought a Carcraft one for mine when I bought the car 3 years ago. because the car has to live outside it's been in permanent use ever since. It's a proper fitted one designed for a cabriolet rather than a coupe so fits quite well. Had no problems with it chafing. The only complaints I have with it is that there are only ties for side to side, it could really do with them front to back as well as the wind can get under the front and blow it about a bit. the other problem caused by the wind is that can sometimes set the alarm off at inconsiderate times of the night. Still I suppose nothing is perfect. One last thing that mine has accumulated with the passage of time is a touch of mossiness which I will have to find some way of treating.
