Car covers....advice

Looking to purchase a car cover to keep my pride and joy out of the weather over the winter.

Any suggestions advice?

I bought a light weight internal cover a few years ago from www.classicadditions.co.uk service, delivery etc was fine and a good product if not slightly over sized. However it is a standard 911 size so I suppose allowance needs to be made for various tail options. The price list I have has light weights for around £88 to HD Weatherproof for £101. Hope this helps [:)]

Cheers for the info......

Nothing ever seems straight forward.....

Looks like no cover for me then.........and look at getting the engine grill covered.....

Halfords do a decent breathable cover for a porsche and not too expensive. The only downside is that it is bright silver, but it doesn't stay bright for too long. I am on my third one now as they only last about two years but it is out all weathers. It is the only protection my car gets.

At the end of the day the biggest effect on all these covers will be UV which will deteriate the material and protective coatings available and be very hard to avoid. The only way to fully protect it is put it in a garage and I would say forget the point from the forum of a de-humidifying system as I've yet to come across any air tight garage, that does not have natural draughts so in fact your trying to de-humidify the world! One thing I'd mention about covers as an obvious point is that these engines get very hot and need to be allowed to cool and the fans can run even with the ignition switched off if the engine compartment is too hot. So be carefull that you do not choke the engine as I would imagine this could result in damage or setting the cover on fire possibly! I always leave it for a goos few hours before I cover mine.

Mine is in a de-humidified garage, and it makes a hell of a differnce to when i did not have one. The car used to be damp with surface rust on the brakes etc...

Now the garage is bone dry and nice shiny silver discs. I would highly recommend a de-humidifier if you have a garage.

Sorry day1zero this does not help you at all, but i would forget the cover if leaving the car outside after what i have experienced.

Got one from Strasse in Leeds (independant specialist). Fits fine (even with Turbo S spoiler), covers the car, fluffy on the inside to protect that lovely paint work. Indoors only. Can't remember the price but is ideal.
