Car Detailer service ?

Can anyone recommend a good car detailer in or around the Essex area ? Would like to get 996 paintwork cut back and polished by professional to restore that showroom shine (lapis blue is a pain to keep shiny). I have tried ALL the polishes and waxes but still seem to get the unsightly swirly effect when sun shines so am hoping professional can sort for me ? Appreciate any recommendations for detailer services previously tried........

Have you tried the new Autoglym "Supreme Polish" for dark coloured cars. Works a treat on my daily driver Dark Indi Blue MCS and also on my Lapis Blue dry weekends only Porsche so not a fair choice of the two :ROFLMAO:

I've heard very good things about Paul @ Miracle Detail (based in Surrey, but will travel). I haven't used him yet but I am planning on doing so (not cheap, but I get the impression he is a quality outfit - have spoken to him a couple of times):

Yes I can confirm that Paul is very very good. He has cleaned, prep'd and waxed my car twice and the results are fantastic.

I could also recommend Meguiars NXT wax which is designed to feed, remove swirls and protect the paint. It works brilliantly well. I had a full demo day up at Jakan Motorsport in their Meguiars indoor wash bay. The results are amazing.

Give Paul a go of you want a great results hassle free...it does cost mind you! Or try out Meguiars it really is good stuff and is designed to remove swirls from dark colour cars.

If you want any more info let me know. I have used Autoglym, Zymol and now Meguiars so can give a fairly unbiased view.

Zymol thats the way to go !! You could also give Phil at Vertar a call he supplies Zymol and can advise on detailers...... and he a "P" car man.

Just to throw the cat amongst the pigeons, I know Zymol is a great product (if a tad on the expensive side) and the results speak for themselves. However, I have heard that it's not the easiest wax to use and does take a long time to apply effectively. In addition, it doesn't last that long either! I would add though that I've not tried it myself, I was going to but shy'd off following the above reports from fellow region members experiences. Given the above and the additional cost, is it really worth it? My vote still goes with Autoglym and the gloss protector, lasts about the same time as Zymol, it's easier to use and is a damn sight cheaper.

Thanks to everyone for advice, I too have tried a lot of poilishes and waxes over the years including Zymol which Ive had some good results with. Just want to try a professional service to see how good waxing can get !

Going to give Miracle Detail a go if I can get it booked in before weekend (off to Brands Hatch). Will let you know how it goes ........

Just a note to say how impressed I was with the service from Paul at Miracle.

He is extremely knowledgeable about paint & wax and offered a broad range of options to choose from.

I only purchased my 996 a few months ago and once Paul had finished (some 8 hours later!) the only downside was the realisation of how poor my OPC had prepped the car just two months previously before delivery!

Despite being 3 years old Paul restored the paint to a standard that would easily match if not exceed a brand new car fresh from the factory and to a finish that far exceeded my expectations.

He managed to remove "all" the small annoying surface scratches that had built up over the years but more importantly he totally removed the unsightly swirls visable in bright sunlight as a result of poor polishing in the past (and probably at the dealer too).

The paint is now silky smooth to touch and the Lapis Blue colour has taken on a completely different shade with a much deeper and reflective glossy shine.
