car keeps stalling

Ok good news first got the car MOTed last night so all is good ;)

Just one niggling problem when i drive the car it stalls every time i stop at a junction or lights it is SO annoying when people look at you like you cant drive.

I have fitted a new idle control valve (so its not that), anyone any ideas what could cause this problem and how it could be rectified?

Thanks
Jamie

PS car is a 1987 944s

This seems prevalent on the S model. Mine does almost the same, revs drop to the lowest mark on the rev counter (400rpm?), and then at the last moment before a stall recover and bounces back up to normal idle speed. Every now and again it will actually stall.

I haven't swapped the idle control valve but I have swapped the air flow meter, which didn't resolve it. I've also replaced all vacuum lines.

Has yours always done this or has there been a recent event that marked the beginning?

What is the idle supposed to be. Mine appears to be about 700-800 rpm but when cold drops like yours. I guess it could be the K&N filter on it and the cooler air at the moment. Its new to me though so just wondered.

Sorry for the tread hijack. [8|]

Is there a microswitch to sense the butterfly closing to activate the ISV like on the Turbo and S2? If so it could be failed or not being triggered.

the car was off the road for about 10 months and it has started since i started driving it again really.
It is the most annoying thing ever
