Car Mats - Help!

Hi,

I'm looking for some car mats for my 944 S2 Cab, in Marine Blue (Porsche colour code 4KV). They've been discontinued now, and I've rung around the various Porsche centres to get them, but there are none. [:(]

I got some cheapo ones from eBay last year, and they just slide all over the place, and they're black.

Does anyone know anywhere that sells them? I've tried Porschapart but they haven't any. Porschshop have them, but not the right colour.

I've found a company in the US who have the colour and make mats under license from Porsche, but they don't have the template for RHD cars. They've kindly offered to make them up for me if I can send them a paper template, which I would if I had some original mats to draw round!

Help!

Any new mats require the two holes in the rear corners to locate them and stop them moving. I bought a new set of black mats from OPC Swindon. Trouble is they are next to useless. Only the drivers side has the holes (but in the wrong place) although all 4 brackets were supplied and the mats are larger than the originals so don't fit correctly. I gave the OPC a call and they said they only do these and they were designed to cover a few models hence the compromised design. I now wish I'd accepted their offer of a refund.

George, I still have the originals that came with the car so I could make you up some paper templates if it helps. I may also be interested if they are exact copies of the originals. How much are they charging?

Morning George.
Why not try 'Southbound'. Adverts in PP and highly recommended.
They certainly had some of the original carpet in '4KF' last year, and made me a superb overmat for the boot space. Not cheap but top quality!

Hi Mark,
The company I was looking at is USSpeed http://www.usspeedonline.com/page/U/CTGY/Porsche_Floor_Mats. If you go on the site, it doesn't give the correct colour for me anywhere (Marine Blue), but I emailed them as they had a colour called 'Sea Blue', they replied very quickly to say that they do have Marine Blue and it's just the template for RHD that they don't have.

So if I don't have any joy with 'Southbound', then I'd love to take you up on your offer of paper templates.

As for pricing, it's $99.95 for plain mats, $129.95 with '944' or 'Porsche' or similar in the front 2 mats, and $159.95 for the same in the rear mats too. The killer is postage which is $80.00 with about 10 working days from ordering for manufacture time & delivery.

There's a possibility that our Customs people might want a chunk too. []

I've no idea about their quality but it seems that they get them from a company called 'Lloyds' in California who seem to supply just about everyone, and they're all keen to inform us that they manufacture under license from Porsche.

Hi Millview, thanks for the info. I rang Southbound and he's really knowledgeable - for instance, he knew the colour code I've been seeking (4KV) is actually Marine Blue for a 911 and it has silvery threads in, whereas the one I need is 4KF.

Luckily, he has some carpet in and he's able to make a set up for me [:)].

Thanks.

George,
I assume the colour is a darker blue then to those shown. Any chance of posting a jpg of an example of the colour or the RGB value if you know it. What is the colour of the main carpets you have?

Cheers,

George,
I'm sure you will be delighted with the quality, make -up and colour match from Southbound. Yet to hear a bad report of their workmanship!

George,

I have 944s2 Coupe with original mats (I think). They have a Porsche logo stitched in.

If you want to borrow them to make a template you are very welcome. The car is garaged in Poulton-Le-Fylde.

regards

Adrian.

Adrian, Thanks very much for the offer - The Porsche centre at Exeter may have some, I'm waiting for them to get back to me. If that fails, I'm going to try Southbound as they seemed really knowledgeable, and if that fails, I'd love to take you up on your offer. I'll let you know.

Thanks very much.

IKWYMOK! I'll be scared of putting my feet on them. I'll probably cover them up with the old cheapo mats!!

Hi Fred, here's a sample of the colour - doesn't look anything like Blue does it! This is the footwell carpet which is Marine Blue, 4KF. There's also a Marine Blue 4KV but that's apparently for 911s and it has a silvery thread added.
