Car on stands

Hi all,
thinking of dropping my car in to have all 4 wheels refurbished after a slight misshap. My question is - when they remove all 4 wheels and leave the car on axle stands is there any chance of them damaging the axles or any powder coating that may exist or is this just common practice and there are allocated places for the stands to rest?
Thanks

I would guess it depends where you take it...
I would be surprised if they take all the wheels off at once at most places.
Even if you take it to Porsche I doubt they'd give you the luxury of one of there hydraulic stands just to have the wheels re-furbed unless they are very quiet.
I don't think they use the axels as a jack point either (at least i hope not!) so I wouldn't worry.

Buy a pack of these: Ice Hockey Pucks

They are made from hard rubber so will protect the car. Tell them them to place them between the top of the stands and your jacking points.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm taking it to Lepsons they have a good rep but I've never left a car with them for all wheels to be done.

It's something I learned from the Rennlist guys across the pond. I have a pack of 5 in the garage and always use them when I jack the car. [;)]

Where, exactly, are the jacking points on a C2S?
