Car Transporters

Im organising a trip to Monaco for the Grand Prix this year and I am trying to find companies that can transport our cars back from Monaco to England.

I have tried to get a recommendation from the likes of EVO mag, to no avail and thought I should try a forum post here.

I did this trip last year with 30 of my mates (15 cars) to celebrate my birthday. The drive back with monster hangovers was not that great (no matter how nice the car).

I seem to remember reading a car magazine article about companies that carried out this service, but cannot remember which magazine it was.

If there is someone out there who has used a service such as this or if you have a recommendation that would be great.

Thanks

Another option is the French Auto-Train.

When I last looked a couple of years ago there was a service from Nice to Calais area via Paris. I've never used them but I believe your car is driven onto the car-carriage in Nice, then you have a sleeper carriage for the duration of the journey (more drinking opportunities!) - then a short drive to Eurotunnel and a final short blast home in UK.

I imagine would be cheaper than 15 cars on a transporter and 30 flights from Nice to UK.

Look in the back pages of Classic and Sportscar magazine, there are several companies advertise their transportation services there.

If you send me an email I will reply with a few 'phone numbers if you want.

Regards

We looked at this several years ago - we didnt do it[&:] The service we were offered was your car was loaded onto the train and you were not loaded. You travelled on a separate train either before of after the Freight Train had left with you car.

I'll leave to guess what could happen - ie You may be well taking a hiking holiday[;)]

I dont think the car service runs any more on that route. Whilst this would be OK for me, some of the other guys simply want to hop on the plane and nurse their sore heads. I will find out about the train mind and note it on the Forum if the service is still running. Thanks

They got all the UK cars on last year's Bookatrack trip to Southern Spain & back safely last year & they are doing the same again this year to Portugal & Spain.
