ok an odd one this for the past five days my 997 c4s is un-locking its self and opens the bonnet.i have even taken to checking the car mid evening and its all locked. last night i took the keys out of my pocket .and checked in the morning and its still locked, went to work with the keys and the wife checked in the garage at 2 pm and the thing had done it again. to recap the cars in a locked garage with electric doors but i even check once ive shut the garage ,,,,,,, whats all this about.

Hi Nick. I don't own a 997 and might by wide of the mark here, but I've read that the key fobs for the 997s can become super sensitive and sometimes the buttons can get pressed in error when the keys are kept in pockets, etc. Are you sure this isn't the case here? I would suggest keeping the keys away from anything that might influence the buttons to move (?hanging on key hook?) and see if it does it again.

i have a 997s and had exactly the same thing 18mnth ago when i bought the car from OPC Sutton Coldfield. I contacted them and they said this happens when u get some dirt/dust on the rocker switch (where ever that is). I got it looked at by my local OPC and thats all it was. They sorted it no problem

This happens a lot on my Cayman as well.
What you need to do is get your OPC to alter the sensitivity of the the key buttons. Should cure the problem.

but it unlocks when i'm not even in the same city as the car and the keys are in my pocket. come on thats very very sensitive, thanks for all your reply's looks likeits of to the main dealer . its still under its two years warranty, some more things to add to the list.

I seem to remember that when the 997 was launched we had a spate of windows dropping and cars unlocking...
and I'm sure it was a control box issue.

I agree the response would be to put it into the dealer and let them take a look.
Electrical gremlin possibly... or a neighbour with a interfering keyfob [;)]

I will add this to the warranty issue thread.
