Car Value

Hello,

A friend of mine has an 03 Boxster S facelift. Last summer he had a new engine put in it due to the common problems that seem to occur with this year and model. At the time the clock showed 25K approx. 3 weeks ago the car was stolen and recovered and due to damage caused at the time is about to have a full re-spray. He has decided enough is enough and is looking to sell the car on.

I just wondered if anybody has any ideas what the value of the car would be on the second hand market considering all of the above?

thanks

Engine shouldn't make any difference to value when selling on - it might even be seen as a plus point if the buyer knows about all the known problems.

Accident repairs, stolen recovered status (assuming it isn't registered as such) will knock the value by around £2k IMO. Hate to say it but selling privately now would probably see £20k absolute tops (there are over 300 boxsters on pistonheads classifieds currently)

If it is registered as a stolen/recovered then knock a bit more off again :-((
