car vibration at idle

Hi All,

1st post here, picked up my 900 mile old cayman on Saturday. Wonderful car (Nordic Gold!!).

But, when sitting at traffic lights there is a slight vibration coming through the cockpit, as if the car's being buffeted by crosswinds. But it's the engine, no accompanying noise...

Is this a normal sensation/quirk. Could it be that I put 95RON fuel in without thinking?

Cheers
Jack

I have a Gen I 2.7 Cayman. Never noticed what you describe and I have run it with 95, 97 and 99 RON.

Hi I belive your new Cayman is a 2.9 Gen 2 Vision & not a 2.7 Gen 1 due to the colour & yes you should be putting 97 or 98 ron fuel but if the problem is still there I would take it back to the dealer as this problem on a 900 mile car should not be there. All the best & enjoy your new Cayman & I would go for that colour on my next Cayman I own as I like that colour too. Yours Kevin 3.4 White Tiptronic Cayman S gen 1.

Yes, the colour is great. I will try some 98RON food next... The engine feels and sounds very good, just the slight vibration issue...
