Carbon dash inlay

Does anyone remember a picture of a car (red very custom Turbo I think) appearing on here some time ago and people commenting on the carbon centre inlay for the dash? Can't remember if anyone established where these could be sourced or not. Mine has the odd crack on a few of the pieces and will be replaced at some point.

I've searched the archives with [carbon dash inlay] but to no avail as the hits are many to say the least.

Have a look at Jager Engineering in Canada. They offer all the different dash trim bits and pieces in a wide range of material finishes. Don't think they do actual carbon fibre, but they do carbon fibre "˜look' pieces.

If you watch some of the modified 944 videos on their site, you can see the interior of their project car with a lot of red plastic and aluminium finish dash inserts fitted.

Can't vouch for the quality, but I've bought LED dash illumination kits from them before and had no problems.

I think it might have actually been the Deutsche Nine project car you're thinking of, but they don't manufacture or sell and interior trim parts. They're performance orientated, rather than styling.

I think Jager send out material samples (for as fee of course) that may help with the assessment of quality if that sort of thing floats your boat. I also got one of their led dash kits and had no probs with it.

Had a good look. As expected they are a self adhesive trim to stick over the original - and pretty pricey.

Not really the sort of thing that 'foats my boat' in the end.

Keith Pink at Prestige Parts was doing genuine CF parts for Porsche if you wanted them. He was using the actual factory Porsche get theirsd from (in Belgium I believe) and the 996 & Boxster dash inserts I saw were simply stunning. He could get anything made if he had a pattern. Not cheap though.

Don't discount just buying all new bits. I replaced one part and it was only about £17 from Exeter PC, so I'd imagine replacing the whole lot wouldn't be too bad. Any different material will need to be really good - witness the wooden dash inserts that someone posted pictures of once. [:'(]

Thanks Paul
That sounds even better. It's easy to immediately discount the idea of buying new parts thinking they'll be too pricey. I'll give them a call.
