ok ... i wanted to change the color of the carpet in the in the 944 lux from beige to black so bought a carpet set from a local scrapper striped out my lux and started to fit the one i got from the scrap yard. the carpet i got is in good condition ..but its from a square dash model , and mine is a oval dash all the carpets fit very well accept the passenger foot well carpet. because of the foot board

i looked through ebay but can't find the carpet i need

so i am thinking of dyeing my original passenger foot well carpet black

what are your thoughts and have any of you done this before

Valeters dye.

The carpets are completely different. Different pattern, different shape and different carpet material.

I tried dyeing burgundy to black using 5l of valeter's dye from eBay.

It didn't go that well:

So I ripped it all out, got some black carpets and dyed them back to proper black and it looks brilliant:

You might have a better result with a light coloured carpet though.

Edit: don't worry I got rid of the dodgy aftermarket gearknob too!!!
