Carpet Glue + odds n ends

Exciting topic I know.

My carpets out for some welding at the moment and I was wondering what glue is used to put the carpet back in and where I can get it from. A few things also popped up.

The accelerator pedal is only held on by a tiny bit of plastic at its base, the rest is snapped.. Can you get replacements?

The passenger side footwell has a big lump of polystyrene covered by sound deadening, this has to come out and has already been attacked by a previous owner. Can this be replaced of do I need to knock something up out of expanding foam [8|]

Cheers

I have no idea what the original glue is but we have used the Loctite spray on stuff you can buy from most motorfactors, funnily enough I am using it today to get some of the carpet trim pieces in my 968 placed correctly. You should only actually need to glue in a couple of places as the carpets are fitted/shaped for the car and tend to slot back into place pretty well. On my 968 I need to glue in the footwell carpet where it meets the door post as it sticks out a little on the drivers side. On the passenger side I got away with it and the carpets all went straight into the correct places and stayed there thanks to the original glue.

Accelerator pedal for my 968 (looks the same as 944 but maybe different part number) was under a fiver from Exeter OPC, I would buy a new clip for the pedal arm as well, they have a nasty habit of pinging off never to be seen again.

Thats great thank you. Some of the carpets been out before so I think the original glue is a little tired. I will get hold of some spray on glue next time I am in the motor factors. I believe you on the accelerator pin as I found a second one under the original carpet so figure someoens lost it before, I now have two so thats nice :)

Once I get the MOT done I will know wether I am spending money on it or not, if all goes well new parts all the way :) Including tidying up the nightmare that is the previous owners radio install!

Neil; 968s have some kind of superglue holding thier cabin carpets in! You cant ever get the b*stard things out! Most cars destined for motorsport go to the dipping tank with the carpets still fitted...
