carpet on a clubbie?

Hola Compadres,

noticed the carpet myself on two other occassions in N/GTs. In all three cases on pictures of T.Schmitz. I have all in all pix of 11 N/GTs in my database. The other ones including mine don't feature the carpet.

Not sure if standard but certainly makes it better for luggage if used as a road car. Many owners also use car mats to ''soften'' it for road use...wimps! You can't beat the good old plywood foot boards!

Normally the front carpet should be there as it holds the warning triangle, which is a German legal requirement. Carpet would normally just be removed for a photo to show the spare wheel, compressor, toolkit, first aid, etc.

Thanks - in which case my car is missing all of those things!! Is it possible to get replacements? Or should I simply not bother?

So I dont have carpet, compressor, toolkit, first aid kit or warning triangle. [:(]

Not interested in the car but was amassed at what he wants for it , is this a realistic price in to days market..good luck to you guys in RS if this is the way the market has gone

Must be !! I am sure a RS in Galio Yellow was sold recently by a guy in the Scottish region and i may be wrong but i think it went abroad and the price was around ÂŁ50k

If we are talking about the same car, it´s now in Germany for sale... 75 k EURO (hope my memory serves me correct, maybe it was even more) , if not already sold. I saw the car and talked to the dealer at this year´s Essen Techno Classica.

It is indeed the same car ..some of the guys from our region saw it at the show, whether it is sold is another matter and what final price he got for it is unknown ,either way he made a few ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ

Southbound will supply the carpet if you are interested.

All the other bits are findable with a little time and application !

Thanks Chris, I'll get in touch with Southbound. I guess I need to dust off my ebay accounts again then.

True, but he does sometimes have some of nicest exemplars [;)]

And we all like so much to negotiate with him [8|]

You are out of touch ... but this Dealer IS the most expensive ....

He was in town this morning delivering this.

He does have some quite special stuff - but yes it's in the price.

Hugh when I bought the car it came exactly with everything I sold to you. Buying all the little gizmo bits including your German Legal carpet is up to you ... I would NOT bother ... it's an ex-Racecar, but if you want to show it fair enough ... where will it stop? Next full restoration ... don't tell me you have got the Rich Claridge polishing bug![;)]

Anyway any decent N-GT owner ate their carpet as part of the initiation ceremony followed by a large melon ...... [:D]

Yes, I see the point Des, it is nice for even ex-race cars to have all the right kit. If its cheap and easy, then I'll get these peices, I cant see it being easier to get them in the future[8|]

If you look at the conidtion of many historic racers, they are actually fairly pretty cars. And when you talk to the owners, they often (not always) have all the right parts tucked away in case of sale one day.
