Carpet recolour

Hi All
My '92 944 S2 has a Cobalt Blue interior, which I love, but sadly the boot carpet has faded in the sun and there are some stains I can't get out. The rest of the carpets are fine and have retained their colour, and I have the original Cobalt mats. I would like to try and recolour the boot carpet, as getting hold of a good quality original replacement looks impossible. I have found a company in the US, https://leathermagic.com/porsche-interior-colors, and they have quoted $40 for carpet dye and $50 for leather/vinyl dye. I am not sure whether this will be money well spent, but prepared to have a go, as I have nothing to lose. I would also much rather deal with a UK company if possible. Has anyone had any similar experiences they can share? Many thanks.
I've only had the car a few weeks and have been away, so am planning to post some pictures over the weekend, weather permitting.

When light fading occurs not only is the dye degraded but also the fibre which means unless you paint the carpet it will not take further dyes up evenly. The best route is to replace, as above.............IMO as a retired colourist

My cobalt boot carpets have the same problem but mainly the side ones, I was also planning on trying to re dye them so i'd be keen to hear how you get on.

Many thanks for all the advice. A replacement would be great, as the rest of the interior has had very light use, so would match up well. But how easy is it to match the original carpet colour? Do Stonegate have samples? That is my only concern. I am happy to have a go at re-colouring, but would have to source dye from US, which is not ideal. I will let everyone know how I get on and take pictures.

I am still trying to decide on the best approach to sorting out my faded boot carpet and have decided against re-dying, as I am not convinced that this will work well on a non wool carpet.

Despite lots of googling over the past months, it has not been possible to find a cobalt blue moulded boot carpet, which is not surprising. I've also been in touch with Southbound as they recovered my front seats, and again a new moulded carpet set is not an option. Therefore, I seem to be left with one alternative, which is to recover the existing faded moulded carpet.

Southbound have the original SliverKnit 928 Cobalt Blue carpet, which I can order by the metre @ £ 44.50 per m/2 + vat / shipping. So the colour will be right, but lots of work fitting, trimming, etc..
My other option is through World Upholstery in California http://www.worlduph.com and they can supply original Feintuft Velour Carpet in colour #5002 Blue velour. Other companies in the US including Pelican and Classic 9 also sell the carpet.

World Upholstery can make a boot area only but it would be cut and sewn not molded for $200.00. This seems good value and sounds the best solution.

Before I commit, I would like to ask if anyone can confirm the carpet colour is correct and applies to a UK cars.

Many thanks.
