Carrera 2 badge position

I need to stick a new engine lid C2 badge on, but have no reference points. Can someone with an original car please measure the position up/down/left and right for me please. I've seen so many variations, but there must have been a standard position from the factory.

Agree. I have seen so many that are positioned wrong (too high/low)

A small thing but good to get it right.

I think you'll find the details in the workshop manual. Here's a link to download it:

Am I missing something? Seems to go 3.2 to 993, can't see a link to any 964 manuals.

Looks like they have gone missing from that site. I've just checked my own workshop manual and it doesn't give any notes on positioning the badge after all.

C'mon chaps, grab a tape measure and pop out to the garage and get those dims for me please.[:)]

Unless someone has a one owner from new car and they know for certain it's never been tampered with..........any measurements provided will be meaningless surely?

I know my engine cover has been repainted so is of no help...

Ade makes a good point about originality of the badge and it's position but I've measured mine for you and here is what I've come up with:

Left lid edge to left edge of C = 28 cm
Right lid edge to right edge of 2 = 28 cm
Spoiler cut out edge to top of e = 11 cm
Bottom edge of lid to bottom of e = 18 cm
Total width of Carrera 2 = 33.5 cm
Tail of a to 2 (the gap between Carrera and 2) = 2 cm

ORIGINAL: Steve Brookes

Left lid edge to left edge of C = 28 cm
Spoiler cut out edge to top of e = 11 cm
Tail of a to 2 (the gap between Carrera and 2) = 2 cm

Just out of curiosity, I've measured mine today. Exact same 3 values as quoted above from Steve's post. [:)]

Mine was fitted by eporsch / GT One who normally have several 964s kicking about so chances are we have hit upon the right answer here.
