Hi,
Does anyone know what the standard ET wheel size is for front and back wheels of a 1986 3.2.

thanks

I posted the chart of all Fuchs offsets in your "Alloy Wheel Sizes" thread [&:] Did you not see that?

6x16 - 36mm
7x16 - 23mm
8x16 - 10.6mm
9x16 - 15mm

The chart also graphically illustrates how this relates to the hub and inboard/outboard.

Sorry this is making me a bit confused.
I currently have 16" BBS wheels on the car.
I saw a set of 18" Turbo wheels with offsets : FRONT WHEELS ARE ET54 AND REARS ARE ET47

What does this mean?, are the ET numbers in mm?

If so these will not fit I assume?

What ET would I need for 17" or 18" wheels.

thanks

Yes, the ET numbers correspond to the numbers above ie., a 7x16 is ET23 or 23mm offset. The diameter of the rim makes no difference to the offset you need - a 16, 17 or 18 inch wheel will need the same offset.

The hubs on the later cars sit further out from the centre of the car, so to use wheels off a later car you need to use spacers. The turbo bodied cars already use spacers so you will end up with very large spacers indeed to use these wheels. The fronts wheels ET54 need 31mm of extra spacer and the rears ET47 need 32mm of extra spacer compared to 7/9x16 Fuchs. You can see this quite easily on the table I posted. Big spacers put extra strain on the wheel bearings and are sometimes not advised for track use. YMMV.

If you called Jasmine (or similar) I am sure they could sell you some appropriate spacers if you describe your car and wheels. The spacers will be expensive though, to the point where you may question the economics of using the wheels you have rather than selling them and buying something with the correct offset. You can get replica wheels in the later styles with the correct offsets for very cheap prices.

As your car has a Turbo 2 bodykit, I would think it would look best with the Cup 1 (or Cup 2) style wheels (rather than the Turbo Twists) in 17 inch diameter, as 18s tend to dwarf even 930 brakes, but its your car (and what do I know!). You can get 235s on the 7.5 inch fronts and 255s on the 9 inch rears (which are the normal sizes for 17 inch Cups) which is quite a lot of rubber. I think the 18 inch 3 piece Speedline (or replica) wheels would also be a great choice if you really want 18s and are prepared to splash a little cash.
