Does anyone have some firm info on what was fitted to the cup cars and clubsports. I have seen a number of different spring systems being refered to as CUP, on rennlist at the mo there is a nice pic of a cup strut with spring made by eibach, on www.fvd.de in the catalogue pages there is also some pics of cup springs neither pics are of the same part can someone bring some clarity to this. Also how much stiffer is the cup suspension wrt driving to and from a circuit say home to Spa ?? is it possible?

How stiff you want it Lawrence! Mnay 964RS owners who do both track and road go for the softer 993RS progessive front set up which apparently works well don't also forget Cup Car is lower 20mm than lightweight thus there can be no give otherwise foul arches etc would also need to adjust roll bars to compensate, also slightly different weight distribution, Cup has big fuel tank and no spare wheel also runs lighter rear but overall very similar.........would suggest speak to Parr!!!!!! The MO03 Package Clubsport I think is Cup Spec..............talk to us Melv........
I was trying to eek out a bit more info on what was fitted to what. I have decided to stay with standard 964 RS progressive springs and have them on order from Porsche.

mine has allegedly got 'cup' spec suspension fitted - which is more adjustable or something. definately is different to the std RS suspension.
its also been wound right down and stiffened up for racing - so whilst good on track in the dry as long as its not bumpy, its a bit firm on the (ever so well maintained) roads in the uk. It is noticeably harder/bumpier/stiffer than a standard RS set up.
i have however driven over to le mans twice in it, and up and down to oulton park/donington and its actually quite comfortable (i dont get backache in it unlike most modern cars) as long as you miss the bigger potholes - and thats with the seats with v.little padding as well. in fact it feels just like my old '66 Beetle which had an inch ground clearance between road and rollbar...[]
so you can live with the stiffer set up if needbe..unless you've got piles

i have stayed with the standard parts for reasons of economy. The stiffer you go the quicker things wear out, especially wheel bearings etc. So I will stay standard for now. I can remember how my Cal bug felt too, much stiffer than an RS. Wish I could afford to have another in the stable. Can't have them all.
