Our region has a stand for 12 cars and 12 admission tickets for this event.

Stuart and Elaine are unable to attend this event as Stuart will be racing at Donnington. Therefore can we please have one or two volunteers to represent the club?
It will be good to have a nice display of Porsches there so if you would like to go then Email r16@porscheclubgb.com

Hi Stuart and Elaine,

I can gladly use a couple of tickets. Love the CC circuit one of the best spectator places I go to,on par with Donington.

David.

Hi,
Thanks to all the above, the more the merrier. Everyone is welcome as long as you take your Porsche.
This weather has to break sometime. Hope to see some of you at club night on 20th

We have the tickets and will take them to the meeting with us on Wednesday. They have been very popular and only a few left.

Hope to see you at the Compass on Wednesday 20th

I will be turning up later in the day in my 928. Would be good to meet some fellow enthusiasts (will have only had the car a month so not really had time to meet anyone yet).

Hope to see you there....

David.

The tickets for this all went like hot cakes so it just goes to show how popular the Combe events are. There should be a lovely display of Porsches on the stand including a GT 2, GT 3 and some older classics.

Nick Paul will be looking after the stand (just look out for the guy kite surfing with the Gazebo) and we hope you have a great day.

Elaine and Stuart

Hi everyone

As predicted the weather was a bit mixed but much improved over last time.

Eventually managed to set-up the R16 regional banner in the wind with help of some borrowed tie ropes from another club. And then with help from Steve and his son Tim we set up the tent. Knowing it was on hard standing I bought along a drill and piloted some fixing holes for the leg supports (and then borrowed a hammer!) "" suggest that a hammer and some tie ropes are added to the kit (a full breakfast also helps to stop becoming airborne if its windy!)

There was an excellent turn out with some fantastic cars. I think there is now a waiting list for rides in John's GT2 and Andy's GT3 (Les and I are on it anyway!)

Thanks to all for a great day, especially Les for taking the tent down as I had to leave early.

Took a few pics which I will post to you later.

Nick

Walked past a few times to day hello but stand was deserted, assumed you were all braving the wind (and occasional light shower) on track / spectating. Some lovely cars on the stand, maybe catch up with you next time around.

Too be fair, I should imagine half the Porsche club were sitting around the icecream vans, certainly not the track!! Thats the way we roll. [:D] Meet you next time..

Hi Paul,
Thanks for putting up the gazebo for Elaine & Stuart at Castle Combe on Saturday, as they were unable to be there, but it looks as if they forgot to tell you of the Booking Conditions for Club Stands 1. Club displays must remain within your allocated area. No part of your stand or display may extend beyond the area. No drilling or pegging into tarmac areas. ( don't mention it too loud - a couple of Clubs have been excluded for that in the past!!!!). A good idear which I mentioned to Stuart when he collected the equipment from me is to take four 5gallon plastic containers - nice and light - fill them with water on site, and use them to tie to each corner of the Gazebo to weigh it down, you can then empty them when your finished - easy to transport.
You will find that it is often difficult to peg into the ground even on the grass at Castle Combe, as in many areas there is old foundations and brickwork only about 10 cm below the surface.
A good day really dispite one really sharp shower which caused some fun on the circuit !!!! I always enjoy meeting everyone there even if its just for a chatter, good to see you all.

Well Done Nick and Les for looking after the stand and for everyone else that turned up to make this what sounded like one of the best attended Combe events for a long time.
In the past our stand has been encroached upon by other clubs but I was pleased to hear that this time we had the full width of stand that was full to capacity without going over the markers.

All we need now is someone with a Cayenne to carry all the extra equipment around.

A successful end to the June 30th Castle Combe event.

Next on the list for this venue is the "August Bank Holliday Race day", see you there.

Details posted soon

I arrived around 10:30-11 and the stand was well attended right up until we all went on the parade lap which finished around 1:30.

From then onwards it was empty with a tea drinking session taking place in the canteen.

Good day and I enjoyed meeting new faces.

David.
