"Nowhere will the competition be more fierce than in our own Melton Concrete Products supported Formula Ford 1600 Championship. Expect the leading runners to circulate as one, the gaps between them measurable in nanometres rather than car lengths.
Some of the country's fastest and most highly developed road based saloon cars make the Circuit's National Mobile Windsceens supported Saloon Car Championship a perennial crowd favourite. The Mitsubishi Evo's are likely to move the earth with their huge amounts of horsepower, but expect action throughout the field, the class battles just as closely contested.
With rule changes limiting the cars to 2 litres next year, 2009 is the last time to see the big sports cars in the ever popular savesometax.co.uk supported Castle Combe Special GT Championship. Again, class battles provide action all the way around the circuit.
Making its first visit is the BARC Intermarque Championship, featuring production based saloon and sports cars and including machinery from the British Touring Car and World Rally Championships.
Formula 4 offers similar diversity for single seater fans, contrasted by Formula Vee, one of the oldest formulae in existence with original Beetle power and immensely close racing.
A couple of races for Stock Hatches round things off nicely.
TIMES: Qualifying from 08.40, racing from 13.00
ADMISSION: Adults £15, OAP £7.50, Paddock Transfer £2.50, U16's free.
RACES:
* Intermarque Championship with Tiger Racing Series,
* Formula 4,
* Formula Vee,
* Stock Hatch,
* Plus the opening rounds of all the Castle Combe Championships for Formula Ford 1600, Saloons and Special GT's "

Some good racing though, and Quarry always produces one or two incidents!

saw most of the afternoon races but had to leave early so missed the F Ford and the later stuff.

Snap, I parked up between Folly and Avon rise but seemed to spend most of the day wandering around the circuit. I have been going there for nearly thirty years and it seems that the viewing for spectators gets better each year.
