Catch the Wind - Lanzarote

My In-Laws went to Lanzarote last week, and while they were there they bumped in to a convoy of about 2 dozen Caymans and Boxsters which was part of a press launch known as 'Catch the Wind' for the new generation cars.

Here's some photos for you........

That's the lot. Enjoy! I understand that there may have been as many as 250 cars involved, they were in convoys of about 8-10 cars with a Porsche Cayenne pace car.

Yellow and blue certainly seem to be popular colours.... [;)] Looked like everyone was having a good time, certainly looking at the sunshine! garyw

Great pictures. Did I see a manual and a standard Cayman? I thought all the press had to test were Ss with PDK. At least that is all they seem to have been written about.

The interior shot of post #9 looks like a Manual gearbox, and in post #11 I can't see the 'S' badge - well spotted! And I thought I'd been observant noticing that all the shots have the cars parked in alternating colours.

This is a completely different bunch of cars to the specced up ones the press were playing with in Spain, all of which were special colours, PDK and had aerokits. Was this perhaps a customer event, rather than a press event?

Hi, I'm not too sure - certainly the in-laws were told it was a press event, and there were members of the press there, but a quick google came up with this page: [link=http://catch-the-wind-2009.com/login.aspx?LanguageID=2]http://catch-the-wind-2009.com/login.aspx?LanguageID=2[/link] and while it needs a login so I can't go further, the header of the page says 'Dealer Launch', rather than 'Press Launch' so you may be correct.
