Hi all, starting to look in to the cayennes seriously at the moment but the pre 2007 models seem to have a fair few problems.

Are the 2007 models more reliable? Specifically the 3.6 V6 model.

Look forward to ;earning more :0)

We are looking at the 3.2 model in the New Year. We saw a 07 model for £13k the other day.

Is the 3.2 the pre facelift model though, even if it is 2007?

Heard there are a fair few issues with the pre face lift models, also heard it is underpowered and hunts for gears. Thats why i am looking at the 3.6 model.

I have a 3.2 and since there is only 1MPG difference between it and the 4.5 S, I wouldn't bother with the 3.2 unless the deal or car is fantastic. The 3.2 is somewhat underpowered and even if you think that you don't need the extra power its nice to have when / if you do. May be I miss it more as I came from a 5.0 litre V8 petrol car.

I'm assuming its more the hike in insurance than mpg. Having read reviews I would be going for the bigger engine in that model range as well.

Tan - have you had any/many issues with your cayenne?

Hi Stu

Mine is 955 (2004) and I have had it approximately a year, in that time the only major issue that I have had is the jolting from the gearbox, this was fixed by replacing the valve chest (think that is what its called) which I had done at a specialist in Luton for a little under £1k.

I have also had the parking brake switch fixed as when you release the brake the light remains on.

Other issues are niggly little things like tyre pressure monitoring sensors and interior light switch and tailgate glass release switch.

Regards

Tan

Few niggly issues and one fairly major issue then. I am struggling to find any threads on the net regarding 2007 onwards CN issues..
