Cayenne & Cayenne S Differences

My 2003 Cayenne S is in getting the rear parking sensors fitted (was part of deal)

I have a new Cayenne as loan car. I was really surprised at the difference between the two. The Cayenne is much lighter to drive, but much much slower.

The difference between a V6 & V8 is pretty remarkable :)

The Cayenne is of course still a nice car. However, the "S" does appear to have the edge. Although, I dont know if it warrents the £10,000 extra for the bigger engine.

My Cayenne S was in for 20k servicing (a mere £443 inclusive) today but I had a Cayenne as a loaner for a few days. I would say if I had driven a Cayenne as a demo I would probably have bought a 4.2 Touareg for less money, however after owning Range Rovers and cancelling my order on an X5 I think the Cayenne S just can't be beaten unless of course you can justify 15mpg and have a turbo or turbo S.
Now that I have a decent set of Pirelli tyres fitted and the Conti 4x4 s are in the bin I've noticed the handling is a lot sharper.
