Porsche shows the new Cayenne Targa and a "Clubsport" edition at the Paris Autosalon 2004.

The Cayenne as a Cabrio? Or as a two-door? On the Paris Autosalon in September 2004, the new Cayenne Targa with a large glass roof ("Skyroof"), whose lamellas can be opened alternatively in front or also in the back electrically, will be showed to public for the first time. In 2005 the Targa comes on the market.

Also the second Cayenne variant will carry a classical 911-Name: The Cayenne Clubsport reacts to the criticism that the heavy jeep is no more genuine Porsche. Thus the engineers of Stuttgart gave it a diet of approximately 350 Kilos. The CS done without all wheeltechnology and pneumatic cushioning, gets a pure rear-wheel drive as well as a stronger turbo with approximately 500 HP.

This "Cayenne light version" lies more deeply and more broadly on the road and is a pure road vehicle. It will be showed publicly at the beginning of 2005 in Detroit or at the IAA in September 2005. A 3,6 liter six cylinder with approx 300 HP is also in the make and is scheduled for autumn 2005.

Blimey - A Cayenne for Track Days!

I thought I'd read somewhere about a Cayenne 'Clubsport'. Then I dismissed it, thinking I must surely have had dreamt it.

Personally, I'd wait for the convertible Cayenne RSR.

The lengths some people will go to...

I did a quick search and found this:-

"The high-horsepower Clubsport will be produced in 2005 or 2006. That model is expected to have a 600-hp 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-8 with a price about $100,000"
