Cayenne Hybrid

Hi
I have been looking at the Cayenne Hybrid and have heard some rumours of issues with the hybrid installation.
Has anyone else heard anything to substantiate these rumours.
Thanks

The main feedback I've had from a couple of people who have had them for a loan period was that the real life fuel consumption was no better than the diesel. and so the perceived benefit was negated, especially as the initial cost was so much more. I've not heard of particular issues and not sure there's any hybrid owners on the forum. If you decide to go for one, let us all know!

The problem is, this is new and fast moving technology. So, there's a risk that it will become outdated in just a few years. And, of course, the batteries can only have a limited life, the cost of which could be considerable.

The Diesel is the obvious, popular choice, but the Hybrid does have several attractive tax benefits.

This may be heresy on this site (and I will wash my mouth out afterwards [:)]) but, if you defintely want a hybrid SUV have you looked at the Lexus?

I tried one last week and found it much better than expected. Plus, costs a whole lot less. And according to the Lexus salesman the Porsche uses the "old" Lexus hybrid technology.

But, as stated I am unsure as to the long term running costs with regard to betteries etc.
