Does any one know if there are any problems converting a Cayenne s to run on LPG. Or am I being silly[FONT=Arial"][FONT=verdana, geneva"][&:]

There isn't a problem and no, you're not being silly. There is a company in England, (somewhere), that has done a few of these. The reason I know is that I enquired, but then chose a better route than a Cayenne because I wanted something that would actually work in the slippy and sticky stuff.

Any petrol engine can be converted to run on LPG. Just in case you haven't had experience of it, there isn't any loss in performance, it is easily available from petrol stations all over the UK and with a properly installed kit, you won't know the difference between running on petrol or LPG, apart from in your wallet. I'm paying 33p a litre at the minute, which gives me the equivalent of about 42mpg out of a 4.7 V8 [:)]. That's driving in Yorkshire, where everywhere is on a hill, driving the vehicle hard and it doesn't really drop significantly when I'm pulling a near three ton trailer!

Regards

Any idea of how much it costs to do the conversion? I'd be very interested to hear of anyone's experience who has done this in a Cayenne. So Mart please let us know if you do decide to go ahead with the LPG conversion.....

I am thinking of buying a Cayenne S. I thought it would be interesting to find out if it might run on LPG. Porsche do not approve and will not guarantee the car if a car is converted. A number of web sites give full details of costs etc. LPG is 33p per Ltr, the conversion costs about £2,000. So if your miles are high its worth going for. PS I am still looking for the right car.
