Hi all has anyone had a problem with there cayenne mis fireing between 23-38 mph the car seems to misfire in D4 and when it misfires a banging noice happens - any thoughts?

Mine used to mis at low revs on pick up in high gear. Was diagnosed a coil packs breaking down which I believe is a common problem but couldnt isolate which one. I found it was more noticeable on 95RON petrol than Super. Problem has since gone away. Didnt have any banging though ...

All coils replaced, and plugs at major service . Then big misfire under load . Water pump going to lunch. Probelm solved. Not sure how that works.
Cayenne has always complained if gets under 1/4 tank . Thirsty girl.

Had similar misfire on my old KN and new coil packs did the trick. Just had the C2S in for major service this week and they discovered and replaced a cracked coil which solved what I thought sounded like pinking under load at low revs.

Well they would say that........my gear box was replaced under warranty as it had a judder on the change between 3rd & 4th, on a bad day the judder was bad enough to feel it through the steering wheel & pedels. Although not quite a banging could be similar.
Dealer couldnt find what was wrong with the box so they ended up replacing it, although I did have to be firm with them on the issue!!

they would say that about gearbox , there are some technical infos in dealers about gearboxes on cayennes and noises..... they just dont want to do it cos their a pig of a job

I cant believe my luck - this thread is exactly what I am experiencing at the mo!!! The wifes bus went mental a week or so ago, cutting out after 3500 rpm with a dash like a disco. The coils have been replaced and software updates were applied, but it has done it again!!! We told the dealer to keep the b*o*dy thing until it could be fixed, but after a week it seems they have given up with "dunno mate, compter says nothng in the fault log".... I have noticed that on some cold days on startup that it drops to first to pull away with a slight shudder rather than staying in second....anyhoo - wife is going in for a good shout tomorrow as she quite rightly doesn't feel safe driving family around in a potential death trap..... Has anyone tackled Porsche UK on the subject? Alscoob - did you use your local dealer? think it may be the same as mine....

Most certainly did, Porsche Harston..and............. they are absolutely useless []. They are pretentious oiks and the girls on the service desks smile a lot but know nothing and despite telling them all the issues it goes in one ear & out the other.

My judder they said was coil packs so they replaced them, I also got them to change the plugs while they were in there, picked the car up. I asked is everything fine "yes sir, no problems now".. 50 yards down the road I turned round and took it back, was just the same! I had to take the mechanic out down the road to demonstrate the problem and he did admit that a few have these problems with the tiptronic box but most people live with it!!

I also had PSM & 4 wheel drive warnings come on at the same time.. new sensor they said.... now this is located below the low gear selector in the centre console, they obviously didn't check anything either because the selector was siezed when I got the car back.... they jammed the switch on the sensor when they put it back together!

They just gave up in the end and took the easy option they didn't know what was wrong with the gearbox, asked at the time to speak to the mechanic but no joy. Hope you have better luck with them than I did
