Thought it might be useful to try and pull all these together and share solutions (if we have any) (I have * the ones I have on my vehicle - will be going into have them fixed next month)

1) * condesation in headlights -> TSB about new silica packs for headlights
2) poor tailgate closing - no solution, but suggest if speccing your car get the comfort pack
3) * rear window probs -> new microswitch available for retro-fit later this month
4) dripping rear window washer nozzle -> retrofit replacement available
5) * wind noise round front doors -> realignment
6) poor headlight alignment
7) vibrations 50mph -> cardan shaft replacement
8) * lurching gearbox esp when cold -> software upgrade
9) sticking door handles
10) * slowly retracting seat-belts ->? replace
11) * intermittent functioning of radio and CDC -> TSB regarding this and the PCMII, not sure if this is applicable to the standard becker too.
12) dreadful grip from tyres in snow -> caution, snow chains, and when they wear out will change my PZeros for all weather tyres.

anyone care to add any more ?

BTW still love the car.

Have you got TSB for silica, lurching, carden shaft and software upgrade?
I have had all the other problems fixed by dealer promptly
Delighted with the car
I had the 22mm rear and 15mm front spacers fitted by Techart today and the car
now looks much more aggresive on the 20" sport technos

Hmmm thats what happens when you farm the serious work out to VW:ROFLMAO:
Have the Toerags been this glitchy also?

Can we have more details about spacers ie cost/photo

Also anybody else suffering tyre problems. We have covered 6500mls mainly motorway and the rears are down to wear indicators already. Would have thought they should last bit longer. They are the 20" so not going to cheap to replace.

Thanks

Andy
The spacers are techart items supplied by Tech 9 nr Liverpool
There are 15mm for front and 18 or 22mm for rear
I had 22mm due to the extra width of the offroad pack
They cost £390 fitted inc Vat
PS They come with TUV cert and need to be torqued correctly
with regard to tyre wear I am expecting them to last for about 8K
miles the michelin diamaris must be very soft on the 20" but they
are much better than the 18" tyres supplied with the car

Garage Door remote control device fitted will not accept signals from existing handset. No solution from Porsche dealers!
The condensation in the headlamps also occurs on the BMW X5. I insisted on having the lenses cahnged and the problem was cured.
Also have probs with my radio just shuts off no warning.
The gearbox also snatches when cold, had the same on the BMWx5 and re-programming solved the prob.
ps Still better than the X5. The GPS is also far superior

I have done 6,000 miles (Cayenne S) and front and back tyres are bald. I called Porsche (Hatfield) and they assured me that their demo had required a new set after 6,000 miles. This cannot be right. Any advice greatfully recieved. Can anyone suggest the best replacements?

Reading your list of issues caused a very red face. The other half had constantly complained that the car lurched first thing in the morning...wish I did! Needless to say she was right.
I have a Cayenne S from Hatfield and have suffered non closing door handles which is such a silly problem as you cannot close the passenger door from the inside. You have to climb out and physically close the pax door from the outside. Glass rear window has never worked. Tyres - you are lucky to get 6,000 miles out of them. Taken the car off road and it behaved like a complete pig. Drove the Porker into a 9 acre wet field (set aside) with two mates. They were soon laughing! Obviously with traction control off she could not manage a serious tractor rut. Despite all of this I love it.:)
