Volkswagen and Porsche have said they are recalling more than 800,000 Touareg and Porsche Cayenne sports utility vehicles because of a fault with the pedal mechanism.

The carmakers said 391,000 Touaregs and 409,477 Cayennes built between 2011 and 2016 would be recalled because “a circlip could be loose on the bearing bracket for pedals”,

There's a recall checker on the Porsche web site [link=http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/porscheservice/vehicleinformation/]here[/link] using your VIN.

Just entered our 2014 Diesel, and its saying 'no open recalls', so we'll see. May be a bit soon yet, but I'll make a note and query with the OPC if nothing in a couple of weeks.

In advance of May Porsche Post ....

If you are the first owner of Cayenne with registered years 2011 until current 2016 , you should be contacted by Porsche UK to advise on recall venue.

Book in at appropriate Porsche Centre ( or contact nearest one to your residential address ) for recall action

Should you be a subsequent owner [ second, third owner et seq ]- it is "hoped " that you may be informed via the vendor as first owner. - ( pigs might ... springs to mind !) Therefore I suggest it is more prudent to take action yourself and directly involve your local Porsche Centre to join their program of rectification. The procedure , I understand, involves a pedal bracket only and is not time consuming. The recall covers all models I am lead to believe.

Hope this helps

Nice to see an email from our Cayenne register secretary informing folk about this as well as the Porsche Post outreach :)

Also got my Porsche Cars GB letter yesterday, will be booking in soon
