Cayenne S Concours result

Maybe a first to have a Cayenne Porsche pick up a concours prize, especially when the car is a daily driver and covered 84,000 miles ! I was really pleased to receive 2nd place in the Pride of ownership competition in yesterdays event at Silverstone, and good to see so many cars (36) entered in the concours. Many thanks to Harriet and Tony for organising the Event.

Hi Helen,
Yes it's your old Cayenne, been mine since May 2007, and been such a great vehicle - a true testiment to the brilliant build quality of these cars, having now covered over 84,000 miles it has all its original componets including Clutch (remember it's manual !), original battery and exhaust - it's only needed brakes, tyres and lots of petrol ! It's certaily earned it's keep with all the towing it does, and cruising up and down the motorway.

Look after that new PanAmera Helen, I should be ready for it in about 2013 !!!

Well done Andrew, after all the cars you have cleaned, you just had to get it right one day, nice to see the sun shining as well, we are now in winter and its raining.

Mark - joking apart, when you are teaching valeting/detailing all day, it's sometimes hard to motivate yourself to do it in the evenings (like a builder working on his own house, or a mechanic fixing his own car), but I'm glad I put the work in, it took me 3 weeks to get the car ready for Silverstone !

Bob - I'm sure all the UK members will join with me in sending our sorrow at the fact that you have rain in Australia (!).
Glad you liked the Cayenne, I still have my 1954 Beetle that I concours, and I did buy a 1977 black 924 some years ago with a view to getting it to a high standard to enter it in the Meister Class concours - but I have not had the time to get that car ready. So I had the idea to try the Cayenne at "pride of ownership" level which I think is a really good class, and I was really pleased to see 36 cars entered in the concours at the weekend, because as you know sometimes at an event like this we struggle to get entry numbers into double figures. Good to hear from you, go steady.

Andrew.
