Cayenne Service

Just had the Cayenne Hybrid in for its 4 year 40,000 miles service .. while it is 4 years old its got 16K miles on it ... ignoring the cost of the service which we have discussed in other threads. Things of interest re this service
* Was 3 weeks from call to the appointment and this was without loan car or pick up. If I had wanted a loan car .. would have been 8 weeks
* It took 2 days for the work
* 3 "workshop actions" : First was when I bough the car 4 years ago I was apparently not given the 2 instruction manuals for the Portable Charging system - 2 manuals provided (WNN1) [8|] : Second was "reprogramming DME control unit (WNE6)" and third was "re-programming instrument cluster (WPF8)"
* Offer to replace rear wiper blade as it was "ineffective" offered quote was 80 GBP to have a wiper blade fitted .. I declined
* "front tyres are 4mm and Porsche recommend changing at 3mm, would I like 2 tyres fitting" .. I had seen the inspection video about 10 mins before this call and all tyres on that where called as 4.5 to 5mm .. I declined and will shop around for best price
* There is a fault being flagged for Passenger Compartment Heater failure .. when discussed this is thought by OPC to be on the electric side and I "apparently" would not have heating when in full electric mode. But as I do have heating in full electric mode I queried had they actually checked or had they just seen a fault, the latter it seems and they admitted they had ran the car in full electric mode and I did indeed have heating. They offered an unknown cost investigation as they had no suggestion how long a "suck it and see look around would take". I declined and said I'd see them if and when the heating actually fails

The worrying thing was I had to sign 3 documents saying I had declined their "recommendations re wiper blade, tyres and heater fault flag" .. All just simply adding up to not exactly a great customer experience these days

Morning Graeme, I can understand your frustrations and thank you for sharing.

Without naming the dealership, which part of the country do you hail from? It's always good to have a few comparable views about expectations v experiences.

I also had a recall on an earlier Hybrid, regarding the instrument cluster update but I can’t remember what it was meant to do or what, if any, changes it made at the time.

They also forgot to include the charger & tyre compressor info as regrettably I ticked the spare wheel box, which meant the spare came bolted upright in the boot as obviously the space in the spare wheel well is taken up with the Hybrid battery pack.

Hi Greg If I was to say Berkshire/Hampshire border I hope that is not too location specific ? I have been with this OPC over 30 years since having them service my first 944 and since then I have always used them for service of all my Porsches and have bought 8 new cars from them. They used to be great both at service and sales, however after a less than stellar Taycan CT buying experience resulted in me asking for deposit back and very lacklustre service experience lately the GTS now gets serviced at a local specialist and I feel this Cayenne may be my last newly bought Porsche
