Cayenne V6 Diesel vs RangeRover Sport 3.0 SDV6 HSE

Hi,
currently have a Cayman R and a Range Rover Evoque SD4, looking to get out of the Evoque as a little small but cant make my mind up between the Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE or the Cayenne Diesel (both new). Anyone have any experience of both/either?
Haven't test driven the Cayenne yet but the stats look good, big plus for the RRS is comfort and ride height - we're looking for something to go touring in so ride comfort is important (RRS has air suspension).
Plus for the Cayenne is the MPG, speed and reliability (so I'm told) plus internal space is bigger than the RRS (that true?).
Any help or advice would be great as I'm getting fed up looking at the specs.
Cheers, Colin

Can't speak for the next generation RRs, but the new Caynenne Diesel is a pretty outstanding package which, IMO, completely eclipses the current RRs.

However, you do need to consider the options carefully and it is quite easy to spend £60k+. However, you should end up with a vehicle that will keep you happy for very many years.

Yes, build quality and reliability first class. 35mpg easy, without really trying. Ride and handling excellent (for an SUV), but best with pasm/air/20" wheels. Not sure there's much difference in cabin space.

Definitely recommended, but it's not a sports car, so you may miss the Cayman.

Definitely take the Cayenne for a test drive and make sure it has air suspension, I've had both and it makes a big difference. As others have alluded to, the handling of the Cayrnne is so much better than the RR. The Evoque may be different, don't know, never been in one.

thanks, not getting rid of the Cayman R, just the Evoque ;)
Test drive booked and arranged for tomorrow & Wednesday......plenty of time to make sure I make the right decision. Will try to get the Range Rover Sport and Cayenne back to back so I can compare......should be interesting ;)

A few options that are worth checking out, apart from the air suspension IMO are:
Panoramic roof system, makes it light and airy
Powerlifting tailgate., helps the vertically challenged to close the door!
Multi function steering wheel
Bose sound system
And dynamic driving lights if you plan to do any continental driving

thanks for the inputs, ordered the Cayenne yesterday after a 24 hour test loan of a car.......out of the Evoque and into the Cayenne you can tell the difference in power, performance and build. Ended up with standard suspension and 19" rims with all weather tyres.
Didnt go for the pano roof as happy enough with the interior and I had the pano roof on the Evoque (it needs it!) and was forever worrying about stone chips or cracks appearing.......ordered plenty of other toys though, including the electrically controlled tow hitch.
Now all I have to do is wait until December ;)
Cheers, Colin
