Cayman 2 spec?

Hi
Well I was going to buy a nice lightly used Boxster but have been swayed while at OPC into going for a new Cayman.

I have mechanical and technical side of options picked but not sure about colour and interior finish.
Tried to set limit on total spend so have got to pick one or other

Is my favourite colour of GT Silver with black alcantara seats a good choice?
Or should I go for Aqua Blue with platinum grey leather package?

Personally I'd say the latter but I do like leather interiors and have no experience of the Alcantara apart from in the showroom, it does however have a good rep for wear etc. Colour is again a personal choice and there are less Aqua Blue cars about.

Peter, You're buying the car for yourself not someone who might purchase it from you in the future. If the GT Silver car is your favourite....buy it! I specced mine in Arctic Silver with Ocean Blue leather interior. I like the Aqua Blue, and the grey lightens the interior, but I've had so many blue cars that I wanted a change. Jeff

Sadly I don't expect the cayman to get the boxster 12.5% as they say they will produce much less numbers of cayman . No harm in trying though :) As for colour etc def go for what you want- I wouldn't have chosen gt silver with carrera red interior and red roof that I have on this loan 981 but it looks stunning !!

I sent you a PM, did you receive it?

Hi everyone Thanks for advice. I was really torn as never chosen a 'special' metallic paint finish before, in fact last few cars have not been new and so not really chosen as colour not first thing on desire list. No discount, was told I could have something on stock Boxster but no way on Cayman. Anyway, having bought latest EVO on iPad and watched video of Cayman S, decided to go for white and have more cash to splash on other things. Now looking forward to launch night and having a drive in a demo car to keep me going till mine arrives.

Good choice and allows something more in the budget for options. How long do you have to wait?[8|]

Good choice of colour, same as mine[;)]

Well done Peter - glad you've made a decision and can now look forward to delivery in the coming months. White appears to be a very popular choice for the 981-series cars. Our Amercan cousins are running a survey on Planet-9 where in a poll size of 194, white (18%) is trailing an aggregated silver (Platinum 14% + GT 6%) with an aggregated blue (Dark+Aqua) in third place with 14%. I see that 1% of purchasers have chosen Lime Gold, which I'd like to see in the flesh..! Cayman or Cayman S; and what interior colour and mech spec have you gone for? Jeff

Now, I am committed as sent my spec to dealer and here is final list. 2.7 engine PDK Sports Chrono pack PASM 20" Carrera S wheel (satin platinum) Bi-xenon with PDLS PCM with sound package plus Part leather seats and leather pack - black Guards red seat belts (treat to brighten interior) Exterior in white I will take delivery in May, after 7th, as I am away at work from end March till then. So now just have to wait patiently.
