Cayman 987 - Upgrade to the original steering wheel

Hi after buying my Cayman S with tiptronic the downside is the steering wheel which is "skinny" compared to the wheel on my GOLF GTD 2011 which is my daily drive.
Has anybody successfully made the change?
Are there any options available for a retrofit to beef up the steering wheel to provide an improved driving experience?
Thanks
John

I would suggest that you should approach a reputable trimmer or seek a second hand Tiptronic sport option wheel from someone such as 9Apart.

Meanwhile I will move this thread to the general discussions are where it should get a greater response.

I Had my steering wheel recovered by http://royalsteeringwheels.com/ . For around £140 it transforms the feel of the car.

Hi Tony

Thanks very much looks good will give them a call.

Just a quick question, did you take the steering wheel off the car and take the cover off etc?

Ta John

I paid a deposit to Royal and they sent me a newly covered steering wheel, I removed mine and swapped over the airbag and silver trims. You need a special tool to remove the steering wheel bolt, and some torx screwdrivers for the trims.

If your local to Royal (Bucks) then they will do the swap for you, or if your in Lancashire I will assist you [:)]
