Hi all!,
I'm new to the forum but have owned my 2007 Cayman 2.7 for a few years now and still loving it, such a great car to drive! (it's my first Porsche) This forum seems great and loads of useful info
Here's my issue as the title says I have a wet passenger footwell first found out as was steaming up inside most days and one day when cleaning found under the mat was wet! then found that the whole underneath was also wet so took everything out dried it and tried to find the source...
So I checked all the usual AC Drain and drain holes under the hood by the battery and they where all flowing freely as far as I can tell, also checked the bottom of the door carpet - also dry.
Then I checked the cabin air filter and found that to be sopping wet so I thought aha I've found it! so took the scuttle panel off and found the foam cover attached to that to be broken above and basically pouring the water from the windscreen straight into the AC unit also actually found a nice block of ice in there too so I fixed that and put it all back together thinking I had fixed it to find out a couple of weeks later it's wet again!
So after checking and fixing all that I thought I must have fixed it but no, after a couple of weeks and quite a lot of rain here recently and it's sopping wet again inside
I did find a bit of water at the bottom of the AC unit again is this normal, as surely that can't be fully water protected?
My last thought is I have thought that maybe it's the windscreen seal as I had this replaced about 3-4 years ago by Autoglass and maybe they didn't fit correctly?
If you guys have any other thoughts of what it could be that would be great! as this car is awesome and don't want to have a wet floor forever and then smell!
Thanks if you can give any pointers
Rich
